Rubin and Ed (56K)

This is a demo I did for Trent Harris, a director of independent and underground movies mostly set in Utah. The composer he eventually hired, Leigh Harline, had a good pedigree: He had composed the music for “The Boy with Green Hair.” The film was originally cast with Peter Boyle, but after he had a heart attack on the set, Howard Hesseman, who never really understood the role, replaced him. Ed is a washed up salesman who befriends a neurotic, freaky kid named Rubin (Crispin Glover) who keeps a frozen cat in his refrigerator. This piece refers to the presence of the cat.
